Day 1: Djerba – Douz – Sahara Desert
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel or accommodation in Djerba. Relax in a private 4×4 vehicle as you travel to Douz, often referred to as the gateway to the Sahara. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch before setting off to explore the area. Take in the stunning views of golden sand dunes and immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the lively markets (souks) (only on Thursdays), where you can shop for unique handicrafts and souvenirs.
Embark on a scenic drive into the heart of the Sahara, where you’ll experience the vast expanse of desert landscapes. Arrive at the luxury tented camp, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the desert. Enjoy a traditional dinner, accompanied by enchanting music and drumming around the campfire, before retreating to your comfortable tent for a peaceful night under the stars.
Day 2: Sahara Desert – Matmata – Djerba
Awake to the serene sounds of the desert and savor a hearty buffet breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, depart for Matmata, renowned for its unique underground troglodyte dwellings. Explore these fascinating structures and the traditional Berber way of life. After your visit, enjoy a local lunch before we begin the journey back to Djerba.
Upon arrival in Djerba, you will be dropped off at your hotel or accommodation, concluding your incredible Sahara adventure.
