1st Day (Tunis/Hammamet/Sousse – Matmata – Douz – Sahara Desert)
– 07:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel or accommodation in Tunis/Hammamet/Sousse/Monastir by private vehicle, heading towards Douz.
– Stop for lunch in Matmata, then continue to Douz.
– Explore Douz, the “Gateway to the Sahara,” famous for its bustling markets and wide selection of handicrafts (Souk available on Thursdays).
– Experience the dramatic change from lush palm groves to expansive golden sand dunes.
– Hop aboard a 4×4 Land Cruiser for an exhilarating ride through the Sahara dunes on your way to the camp. If you’re lucky, you might spot some Arabian gazelles, fennecs, or oryx along the way.
– Check-in for a one-night stay at a luxury camp in Douz (Sahara Camp).
– Enjoy an unforgettable night in a luxury tented camp in the heart of the desert.
– Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by a night of drumming around the campfire.
2nd Day (Sahara Desert – Douz – Matmata – Tunis/Hammamet/Sousse/Monastir)
– 08:00 AM: Breakfast at the camp, followed by a scenic drive through the unique southern architecture.
– Visit the underground troglodyte homes in Matmata, then stop for lunch.
– Transfer back to Tunis/Hammamet/Sousse/Monastir.
– Arrival between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
